Birth preparation workshops
Entering the process of pregnancy and birth equipped with knowledge and understanding will make the experience a much more positive and joyful one for mother and baby.
Being prepared with tips and advice during this time of mental and physical change is empowering. Being able to make informed decisions for each stage of your pregnancy and for the birth is invaluable.
The group birth preparation workshops provide mother, father and family with valuable information on all aspects of the labour and birth, as well as postnatal period. These group workshops can be for mother to attend on her own or with a partner of her choice. It is also a great place to meet other mothers and families in your area.
During the workshops we discuss:
- The physiology of the stages of birth and help you learn tools and tips of how to manage labour.
- Your birth plan options (including your pain relief, induction, monitoring, Caesarean section, who you want at the birth, what you want to happen directly after delivery etc).
- What you want to experience once you bring baby home (including advice on breastfeeding, bottle feeding, how and where to put your baby down to sleep, buggies, carseats and everyday life with baby etc).
I can answer any lingering questions you have (there is no such thing as a stupid question!).
I will also practise tailored relaxation exercises, breathing exercises, meditation and visualisation techniques, movements in labour and birthing positions.
I can also refer you to a network of specialists in the birthing field including doulas, masseurs, osteopaths should you want any other support.
I also provide private workshops. They can be held at your convenience, in your own home or at a venue to suit you. Prices depend on group size.
